Born in Pretoria in 1935, Adriaan Boshoff is a self-taught painter of landscape, still lives and figures. He works predominantly in oils and has been described as South Africa’s greatest impressionist. Boshoff is adamant that if a painting does not measure up to his standards he will destroy it.
This self discipline and dedication to excellence has resulted in Boshoff becoming one of the most collectible of South African Artists.
After an artistic career spanning 40 years his work has achieved investment status and can be found in collections throughout the world. “In my work I endeavour to portray things in a way that people can understand. Things which I see and experience around me, I like to capture on canvas as I perceive them”.
